Services and Support

When someone has a developmental disability, living a quality life can be a challenge  for both the individual and their family.  Without support, it can be overwhelming, and even impossible.  The Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities is deeply committed to helping individuals live life in their community as fully as possible.  The services and supports required – whether it's a for a medical need, an educational or training issue, a transportation matter, or a safety concern – are based upon individual need and individual choice. 
And because we feel that a quality life is a team effort, we encourage and support the involvement of families and friends, as well as participation in the community.     

The Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities is devoted to helping individuals with developmental disabilities and their families not only to survive, but to thrive.

Recent state and federal regulations as well as changes in the types of services and supports being requested have meant that the Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities is less of a direct service provider and more of a “broker” for needed services and supports. 

Whatever the degree of involvement, the Pickaway County Board of Developmental Disabilities is devoted to helping individuals with developmental disabilities and their families not only to survive, but to thrive.
